A documentary film about the international peacebuilding efforts for Mindanao in the Philippines, one of the world’s long-term conflicts sparked by violence that left over 120,000 deaths and millions of displaced persons since the 1960s was released and screened in the Philippines.

In celebration of National Peace Consciousness Month, a peace documentary titled “Great Legacy” premiered in a cinema in Davao City on the evening of September 6, 2022. Around 500 representatives from the government, education sector, media, as well as civil society leaders, religious leaders across the country, and peace advocates from Mindanao have attended.

The documentary was produced by SMV Media Group, a broadcast company based in Seoul, South Korea, in collaboration with Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light (HWPL), an international non-profit organization affiliated with the UN ECOSOC advocating for global peace. The film showcased HWPL and actors who engaged in peace-related activities in Mindanao.

Davao City Mayor Baste Duterte congratulated by saying, “By showing people documentaries and films on peace, we may encourage more to be one with us in our peacekeeping and peacebuilding efforts for our communities.”

HWPL’s peace movement in the Philippines started when HWPL Chairman Lee Man-hee, a Korean war veteran and peace activist, visited Mindanao several times since 2013. He mediated a civilian peace agreement signed by Archbishop Emeritus Fernando Capalla and then Maguindanao Governor Esmael “Toto” G. Mangudadatu on January 14, 2014, in General, Santos City. Before the audience of 300 people including politicians, university professors, religious leaders, and students, the representatives on that day promised to cooperate in ceasing the conflict and building peace especially in the Mindanao region which has long suffered the aftereffects of war.

This agreement became the starting point of HWPL in raising public awareness about peace not only in Mindanao but throughout the Philippines, based on the universal principles of mutual understanding, respect, and harmony. HWPL’s peace initiatives include law enactment for peace, interfaith dialogues, peace education, and youth and women empowerment, which has brought leaders in different countries to support peace in Mindanao.

In the film, Martin Lee Hojian, former chairperson of the UN Human Rights Commission of the United Nations, praised HWPL led by Chairman Lee, and the Filipino people who had a keen passion for peace. Also, Nabil Tirmage, Asia Pacific Broadcasting Development Organization program manager, said that the civil peace agreement in 2014 is an “amazing case of realization of peace that the world should study”.

“The conflict in Mindanao has been a major variable not only in Southeast Asian but global situation. The establishment of peace in Mindanao was a global task and required constructive intervention from the international community. In particular, it will be possible to understand through this documentary film that the efforts at the private sector, like HWPL in Mindanao, are the foundation for peace to settle down,” said an official of HWPL.

SMV Media Group announced that the documentary film will be accessible through various channels in different countries including broadcasting stations and multiplex theaters.

Applying for a home loan is a big financial commitment – one that usually lasts decades. A home loan allows buyers to finance their purchase without draining their savings or compromising their dream house. However, your home loan planning doesn’t end with choosing the right home loan provider.

It involves a lot of financial and budget planning, from selecting a property that fits your budget to deciding on an affordable loan amount accordingly. And picking a suitable loan tenure and planning your EMIs is one of them. Why? Because before opting for a loan, you must know how much you can afford to pay as EMIs so that it is easier to plan your monthly budget accurately.

Using a home loan calculator is a simple way to estimate your EMIs. It is a free online tool that lets you calculate your monthly EMIs by using three key factors-

  • Principal amount
  • Loan tenure
  • Rate of Interest

Borrowers can enter various combinations of loan amount and tenure to arrive at an EMI amount that works best for them. It is an excellent money-management tool that allows borrowers to plan their repayments conveniently.

How can a home loan calculator make financial planning easier?

  1. Easy to use

A home loan calculator is resourceful and easy to use. You can access this online tool on most lender websites. All you have to do is enter your loan amount, loan tenure, and the interest rate offered by the lender. And the calculator will show you the estimated EMI amount within seconds.

Besides, you can check different combinations to determine an EMI that fits your budget.

  1. Determine the right tenure and loan amount

Your home loan tenure, interest rates, and the loan amount you apply for directly affect your EMI amount. While the interest rate is fixed by the lender and depends on various eligibility criteria, you have to choose the loan amount and repayment tenure.

You must settle on a loan amount based on your needs and affordability. It would help to create a budget to arrive at an affordable amount. Similarly, loan tenure directly impacts your EMI – the shorter the tenure, the higher your EMI.

So, you can use the online home loan calculator to determine how much you can afford to borrow and for how long. If you can easily manage higher EMIs, go for a shorter tenure. Otherwise, if you have too many financial obligations, it is best to choose a longer term to make the repayment affordable and avoid the risk of default.

  1. Know the EMI beforehand

With a home loan calculator, you can estimate the EMI amount and the total interest outgo before the loan is sanctioned. This helps you to plan your monthly budget – you can decide if you need to cut down on expenses to manage the EMI payments better.

Not knowing your EMI obligations beforehand can significantly affect your finances; you might end up applying for a higher loan amount where the EMIs turn out to be higher than expected. This will not only make repayment difficult but late payments or defaults can also hurt your credit score.

  1. Borrowers can compare loan offers

With different lenders offering competitive interest rates and attractive loan terms, choosing the right lender that fits your needs can get overwhelming. Apart from lower interest rates, flexible loan terms, and nominal charges, you must compare various lenders based on your prospective EMIs.

A loan calculator can help borrowers estimate the amount of EMIs they will have to pay with each lender, making it easier for them to choose a lender that offers the most affordable loan.

  1. Manage loan prepayment

During your home loan tenure, there might be times when you receive some extra funds, maybe a cash bonus, or increased profits in business. In such a situation, you can consider prepaying a big chunk of your loan to reduce your liability substantially.

A home loan EMI calculator can help ascertain how the loan prepayment before the tenure can impact your remaining EMIs. You can calculate the new EMI for the remaining tenure and adjust your finances accordingly.

You can rely on an online home loan calculator to produce accurate results.

Final Words

When you’re looking to apply for a home loan, a home loan EMI calculator is a handy tool that assists your financial planning. Equipped with the right insights, your loan repayment will become much more manageable.

Check out Tata Capital Home Loans with the most competitive interest rates and a wide range of products. With flexible repayment tenure and structured EMI plans, you can get a quick loan starting from Rs. 5 lakhs. Use the home loan EMI calculator to plan your finances according to your loan needs.

New Hindi Movie ‘Aankda’ is a dark comedy story in the conceptual Muftpur village of UP. The movie is based on the habits of the villagers to get free electricity by connecting a wire fraudulently to the overhead cables by a bamboo stick called KATIYA. Government officers are taking every care to stop this practice. Dark Comedy of fraudulent villagers with UP-style item songs, and a typical Pradhanji-making politics are the main attractions of the movie

Few good people like a school teacher and some young boys and girls oppose this KATIYA practice. Sajjan is the right hand of Pradhanji, while Jagan and others are criminals in the village. Pradhanji of the village is glorifying the KATIYA by making it a GODDESS by building a temple and worship it. The Arti of Goddess Katiya is a nice comedy song. Coincidently Pradhan’s charming daughter is also named as Katiya. Katiya tries to flirt Sanju. Sanju, a sincere student gets selected in UPSC for IAS and the fight against Pradhanji and KATIYA practice becomes easy.

Theft of electricity is a major problem in all the corners of India. People feel that they must get free electricity. The losses in such electricity are to be borne by the bill payers and the income tax payers.

The Bollywood movie Aankda talks about the dangers in theft by KATIYA practice. People in Maharashtra call it as Aankda, meaning a hook to attach the wire to the overhead cable.

Producer Chandramohan and Director Akshay Kardak are trying to release the movie in UP, BIHAR, Uttarakhand, and Delhi in the coming November. Writer of the film is Linesh Ghadge. Actress Simmi Dixit is from Lucknow while Vijay Kumar is from Delhi. Pradhanji is cast by Ulhas Adhav while the school teacher is Ravi Deodhar. DoP of the movie is Manoj Gupta. Lyrics are written by Kuldip Singh, Dastgir Mujawar, and Chandramohan, and the music is composed by Salil Mohan. The songs are specifically written with the context of electric current and Katiya. The love song “Tu Bijli ka Taar hai, Main Aankda hun” is like a reply to the Tony Kakkar’s hit song, “BIJLI KA TAAR”.  The song will break the record of Tony Kakkar.

Saz Sargam Production expects that such Muftpur villages will get rid of Katiya practice and will be converted to Vikaspur.
