Mumbai: After the rip-roaring success of the first three seasons of 10 PL, the World Cup of Tennis ball cricket, Petromann Sports Managament today announced even bigger plans for Season 4. The fourth season will be staged from 18-25 December 2022.

Much like the previous three editions in 2016, 2018 and 2020, this time too, the tournament promises to be bigger, better and bolder. But there is a small change, the tournament will be staged in India for the first time ever. The tournament will be held at the Dadoji Konddev Stadium in Thane near Mumbai city. Skyexch.net has been the title sponsor of the tournament for a period of five years, whereas noted cola giants PepsiCo have come on board as beverage partners and Tripxoxo is the official ticketing partner for the event.

The move to India will ensure greater visibility for the tournament with an expected reach of around three billion plus through various media platforms in comparison to a total reach of 325 million from the earlier editions. The first three editions of 10 PL were staged at the historic Sharjah Cricket Stadium, which finds a place in the Guinness Book of World Records for staging the maximum number of ODIs.

Two-time T20 World Cup Champion, Dwayne Bravo has been roped in as the brand ambassador for the tournament. He will unveil the tournament trophy, jersey and other interesting materials on 7 December 2022 at a gala dinner in Dubai. For the first couple of editions two other World Cup champions former Pakistan captain Wasim Akram and India’s Virender Sehwag were the face of the tournament.

“I am absolutely thrilled to be associated with 10 PL. This is an unique opportunity for the players to showcase their skills and present a different facet of our great sport. I am looking forward to performing my iconic song Champion at the gala dinner in Dubai. I am sure the tournament will be a rip-roaring success,” said Bravo.

For this year’s edition a total of 20 teams from – India, Middle East and Sri Lanka will be in action during the eight-day extravaganza. In all 51 matches will be played during the tournament. On the opening day of the tournament on 18 December, a Rest of India XI, a Maharashtra XI and a Sri Lanka XI will play a four-match series. Each of the three sides will play each other once before the top two teams face off in the final. This opening day will set the tournament alight before the remaining 47 matches will be staged.

The tournament is the largest global platform for tennis ball cricket with the biggest prize money of INR 60,00,000.

This year’s tournament will be live on multiple platforms:

Two separate feeds will be created for Television and OTT, thereby enabling maximum reach of the tournament.

In the first three editions, several players who have played for their country at the Test, ODI and T20I level or even domestic level including the likes of Kamran Khan, Umar Gul, Zahoor Khan and Sheraz Ahmed featured in the tournament. In 2016 former Pakistan wicketkeeper Zulqarnain Haider featured in the competition, whereas former Sri Lanka international Thilan Thushara played for Super Fashion, Sri Lanka in 2018.

In the recent years we have seen even in the Indian Premier League (IPL) a number of players like Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Kedar Jadhav, Basil Thampi, Mohammed Shami, Jasprit Bumrah amongst a whole host of others who started their careers playing tennis ball cricket.

About Petromann Sports Management

More than a decade ago a team emerged from nowhere to try their hands in indoor cricket tournaments in Dubai; a team largely made of blue collared workers. A man named Abdul Latif Khan also known as Arif Khan was the man behind this start up. A passionate cricketer having played moderate level of the game back home in India, Arif Khan was desperate to carry on his love when he came to Dubai in search of greener pastures. Despite the initial hardship, in 2004, he decided to form the team named PETROMANN that entered the indoor facility for the first time. There were handful of players who were ready to play but could not affaord shoes while many of them were not even aware of the rules of indoor cricket. But with a never-say-die attitude, Arif Khan ensured he kept the spirit of the team high and the results began to show as they emerged champions of that division. Thereafter it was a fairytale ride for the Petromann as the team quickly rose through the success ladder and found themselves playing in the ‘A’ Division against some of the best teams in the country. Their fight to excel continued and there was no looking back as the team made winning tournaments a habit. They achieved success in every possible tournament proving their dominance in indoor cricket and earning a huge reputation in the cricketing fraternity. The team’s face changed rapidly as years went by with several players who represented the UAE National team also being part of the setup. Among those Amjad Javed, Asif Mumtaz, Rohan Mustafa and Qassim were some to name a few. They went a step ahead bringing international players on full time contract from Sri Lanka to play further strengthen the team.

A full-fledged board was formed to further enhance the management of the team that included Tanveer Sadekar, Aslam Shaikh, , Aashiuqe Shaikh, Shaikh Usman  and Sanveer  Sadekar. As they grew in status, for the first time in 2013, Petromann found a sponsor in Pacific Ventures for ICC Summer League. Real Estate developer Parvez Khan showed tremendous interest in the team and soon Pacific Ventures & Petromann Group Cricket Club collaborated as the team began playing under the banner of PVCC. This was the first team to find a full sponsor in the UAE. After having achieved so much, Abdul Latif Khan, who also served as the Manager of Cricket Operations for Capricorn Commanders in the Masters Champions League held in 2016, felt it was time to give back something to the game he loved so much. In addition to the above, Petromann Sports Management also managed Maratha Arabians, during the Abu Dhabi T10 League. Ministry of Tourism, Government of India organized the 10th International Tourism Mart (ITM) for the North East Region from 17th to 19th November 2022 in Aizawl, Mizoram. The International Tourism Marts are organized in the North-Eastern States on rotation basis. Mizoram is hosting this Mart for the first time. The earlier editions of this mart have been held in Guwahati, Tawang, Shillong, Gangtok, Agartala, Imphal, and Kohima.

The eight states of North East India are blessed with scenic natural beauty, rich biodiversity, rare wildlife, historical sites, distinct cultural and ethnic heritage, and warm and welcoming people. The region offers unforgettable Wildlife Tourism, Tea & Golf Tourism, River tourism, Religious & Spiritual Tourism, Heritage Tourism, Cultural & Culinary Tourism, Adventure Tourism, Argo & Rural Tourism, and Offbeat Destinations. The second day of ITM included presentations by eight North Eastern States on their tourism potential as well as cultural evenings, and sightseeing visits to local attractions in and around Aizawl. B2B meeting was also arranged, where buyers from different regions of the country engaged in one-on-one meetings with sellers from the North-East Region. An exhibition including the display of beautiful handicrafts and handlooms was also organized to showcase the tourism products of the respective participating States.

During presentation it has been highlighted that different types of Tourism products are available in North east. Wildlife Tourism, Tea & Golf Tourism, River tourism, Religious & Spiritual Tourism, Heritage Tourism, Cultural & Culinary Tourism, Adventure Tourism, Argo & Rural Tourism and Offbeat Destinations are some of them. During the session, Secretary Tourism Shri Arvind Singh said that sustainability has been a priority for the travel, tourism, and hospitality sector for some time, but it has become even more prominent due to the pandemic. The demand for green tourism is growing as people are becoming more conscious of their impact on the environment and are looking for more sustainable travel options. The Government of India is now focused on promoting the move towards green tourism. During her address Principal Secretary, Tourism Department, Government of Mizoram Smt. Manisha Saxena said that Mizoram has always been known as having an untapped potential for tourism because of its mesmerizing landscape, lush green hills, and captivating topography. A person with expanded consciousness can lead to much greater changes in this world than anybody who has not worked on his consciousness yet.

But the lack of resources at many Old Age Homes and the presence of so many senior citizens coming from different backgrounds and then living together results in politics. All they wanted was love from their children. It makes me very sad when children leave their parents at the time when they need them the most”, she added.

Kashish G advises, “The benefits of awakening the consciousness are much greater than a human being can imagine. When the consciousness is expanded people change drastically. A person who would otherwise accept an unclean environment around him will start keeping things cleaner. The awakening brings in the present moment awareness more than ever. It makes a person more conscious about different aspects of life and has the power to enrich life like never before.”

While Kashish mentions that she is in the initial phase of her work with senior citizens, the feedback from the Senior Citizens has been amazing. She is getting more demand for her work and is planning on her ways to expand.

Kashish Gambhir also has plans to carry out Model projects for her work with Senior Citizens. She expressed that she wants to set up a Model City Area that could then be replicated in the entire country. Her goal is to motivate youngsters to love & to keep their parents along with them rather than sending them to old age homes. She says that she has developed a model that will be a win-win for all participating partners. She added that she is looking for partners to start this work at a greater scale.

When asked what she gets out of helping the senior citizens, Kashish says, “We should help our parents simply out of love, for what they did for us when we were children. As a spiritual guide, I can tell you that blessings have the power to change the course of our destiny. What goes around always comes around, sooner or later. Then why not take as many blessings as I can?”, she laughed.

MindPlus organizes drive for underprivileged children on Children’s day

As Calvin Coolidge once said, “No person was ever honored for what he received. He was honored for what he gave.” And the best thing about giving is that you can do it anytime and to anybody. So with this intention, a donation event was organized to uplift the underprivileged children of our society.

This Children’s Day, MindPlus decided to bring smiles to the faces of tiny- tots by organizing a drive where they collected shoes, clothes, toys, books, and food from the staff and caregivers of patients for the children in the outskirts of Doraha, Ludhiana.

Mind Plus Staff came forward and worked together to help these children to provide basic essentials for their better growth and development.

On November 14, 2022, a team from the hospital visited the Doraha slum neighborhoods with the donations that had been collected in a donation box that had been set up in the hospital.

The management officials urged people to come forward and contribute their bit to this social cause. We strongly feel that everyone should have access to basic necessities like clothing, food, shoes, and other necessities. So this event was organized with an aim of providing these basic survival kits to these unfortunate sections of society. We further hope that this drive encourages others to do similar activities to help underprivileged children.

Children from underprivileged backgrounds, including those in slums, urban poor families, and rural poor families, experience a variety of disadvantages, including poverty, malnutrition, access to quality healthcare, a lack of sanitary facilities, poor cleanliness, and inadequate access to clean water. This whole event was planned weeks ago by the hospital team and executed efficiently on Children ‘s Day when some of them visited nearby slum areas and interacted with the children. Our team also created awareness about mental well-being among the children where children were taught about basic breathing exercises and mindfulness for their mental well-being.

Cake cutting was done by the children. Our team members shared the feeling of satisfaction and contentment after distributing these donations to the children. They felt extremely overjoyed after seeing smiles on these kids’ faces.

Delhi, Nov 13, 2022: Diabetes is one of the main non-communicable diseases in India and is a major public health challenge. Despite improvements in early detection and treatment, many of those with diabetes develop serious complications such as heart attack, stroke, amputation, blindness, and dialysis. By far the most common form of diabetes is type 2 diabetes, which mostly develops in late adulthood mainly due to physical inactivity, smoking and obesity. Vijay points that the metabolic disease known as diabetes has reached the proportions of a worldwide epidemic. It not only endangers human health, but also social structures and national economies. According to International Diabetes Federation estimates, around 415 million people had Diabetes in 2015 and this number is expected to rise to 642 million by 2040. The United Nations lists diabetes as the first non-infectious disease on the list of worldwide dangers to human health. The chronic disease no longer only affects first world countries; China and India have also published alarming figures. Estimates predict approximately 300 million diabetes cases worldwide by 2025.

India is deemed as the world’s capital of diabetes. The diabetic population in the country is close to hitting the alarming mark of 69.9 million by 2025 and 80 million by 2030. This denotes that the developing country is expected to witness an increase of 266%. The statistics recently accumulated showcase that culture of diabetes is more prevalent in the urban areas as 28% of the population living in cities are affected, whereas 5% of the rural population are positive with diabetes mellitus.

While the diabetes epidemic has become a concern for the public, there is also a strong perception that those in a position to bring about change are not taking the right steps to prevent this non-communicable disease from drastically effecting lives.
