Singing Cosplayer Hikari, an international singer who covers J-POP songs, especially anime songs and Vocaloid songs, will perform at JAPAN EXPO which will be held at the Parc des Expositions de Paris- Nord-Villepinte, France from Thursday, July 14 to Sunday, July 17, 2022. JAPAN EXPO is the world’s largest Japanese culture festival (expected to draw more than 200,000 people over four days).

As the world emerges from the pandemic, there is a new set of technologies that are powering the world of experiences. Holograms suddenly seem to have caught on the interest of almost every sector – either for portraying as experiences or for more complicated business cases such as digital twins, R&D, simulation, or even architecture. India seems to be leading the trend in this area as we notice widespread adoption of this futuristic technology.

It is a technology segment that seems to portray experiences as being beyond virtual reality, augmented reality, or mixed reality. How the trend catches on is to be seen but the start is definitely exciting. Not to be confused with prisms, hologram fans – these companies are building actual holograms in thin air.

3D holograms use the property of bending of light rays effectively to create interactive and virtual objects, people, and spaces – in thin air. While small-size holograms have been experimented with earlier, we see a new trend in the larger-size holograms that are being offered by some of the niche companies in this sector. The programmability is an aspect that makes these holograms powerful as they are no longer just showcases for statues and objects.

We are seeing the Real Estate sector starting to use 3D holograms to provide immersive and interactive walkthroughs to their potential customers. The clients get a realistic view of what’s coming up in the property, or even their apartments. The landscaping, the buildings, and the amenities are all seen as holograms. The entire family can now see the upcoming property by the builder – all standing together in the holographic rooms. There is finally the ability for you and your spouse to stand together and experience the view from the 16th-floor balcony -exactly how it would be rather than just how the builder wants to show it.

Tourism is getting a special boost by utilizing 3D holograms in being able to display tourist attractions and provide virtual holographic tours of these places to create interest for the tourists. This problem has been overcome by the availability of large size 3 holographic displays and the advancement of technology and solutions in this space. The programmable interactivity makes this technology even more relevant for lidar scans in the days to come.

The education sector in itself is getting ready to transform as we see the use of holograms. Brilliant teachers can now be converted into a 3D hologram and effectively deliver classes simultaneously in any part of the country or even the world. complex lessons can be explained easily 2 students using the 3D holograms to illustrate the subject better. Union Minister for Tourism, Culture, and DONER Shri G. Kishan Reddy inaugurated the 2 days Conference of Amrit Samagam being held from 12th – 13th April in New Delhi. During the inaugural day of the 2 days Amrit Samagam Conference, Shri G. Kishan Reddy also launched the Utsav Portal. Secretary Tourism Shri Arvind Singh, DG Tourism Shri G. The Utsav Portal website, a digital initiative launched by the Ministry of Tourism, aims to showcase all the events, festivals, and live darshans across India to promote different regions of the country as popular tourist destinations worldwide. The objective is to showcase various elements, dates, and details of the events and festivals of India on a global platform and increase tourism awareness, attractions, and opportunities by providing tourists with contextual digital experiences in the form of visually appealing photographs and stills from the events. The Ministry had also released a digital Calendar on the theme of dedicated tourist sites on AKAM on the occasion of National Tourism Day on 25th January.

During the Conference, Additional Director General, Ms. Rupinder Brar, while highlighting the events which have been undertaken by the Ministry of Tourism under Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav, also stated that a convergence of activities with the State Governments and Union Territories was necessary to create an impactful and wider outreach for spreading the core message of Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav. The Ministry of Tourism showcased all activities done across India under AKAM since 12th March 2021. It also shared the proposed 75 locations across India where events shall be held in the coming months. The thrust will be on Jan Bhagidari. The State Governments have also been urged to select their own 75 locations in addition to the Ministry`s India @ 75.

In order to augment the infrastructure development, the Ministry has sanctioned 03 projects during 2021-22 for a total amount of Rs 112.25 crore, with the objective of integrated development of identified pilgrimage and heritage destinations, under the PRASHAD Scheme. The thrust of the Ministry shall be to provide basic amenities at many more religious places so that pilgrims are benefited. This will allow many more locations to be covered.

The Ministry has also recently revamped its Swadesh Darshan Scheme as Swadesh Darshan 2.0. Under the revamped Scheme, a destination and tourist-centric approach is envisaged in order to develop responsible and sustainable destinations.

In order to mark the celebration of International Day of Yoga 2022, a list of 75 locations has been shared with the State Governments. The inclusion of students from schools/colleges / Universities / Institutes in the overall celebrations would be the highlight to ensure maximum participation.

Fly Drone, a company in Rostec’s portfolio, is implementing a joint project with the government of St. Petersburg to create an urban air mobility pilot zone for testing drones. The infrastructure necessary for drone flights in the airspace of St. Petersburg is planned to be put in place by the summer of 2022.

The work will be carried out in partnership with the Research and Production Corporation Almaz. The corresponding agreement was signed with the Committee for Transport and the Committee for Informatization and Communications of St. Petersburg. According to the document, the parties will develop a special digital platform based on existing city services and a ground-based radar system. This will ensure safe flights of drones within the city and significantly simplify the procedure for their approval. In addition, the project will make it possible to form a database of verified airspace users.

In the future, the new digital platform will enable drone owners to offer themselves as contractors for orders placed in the system. Thus, the platform will create a market for professional drone-based services. In particular, drones can be used for aerial photography, various types of monitoring, urgent delivery of goods, as well as 3D modeling of the terrain and structures.

Fly Drone engineers will develop personalized online services for user registration, flight coordination, and liability insurance. Authorization in the system will be carried out through the Portal of Government Services. A drone owner will be able to file a flight plan application using a simplified interface and automatically receive permission from the transport committee to use the airspace. Application review is expected to take no more than one day. The integration of the developed platform into the system of digital city services of St. Petersburg is scheduled for May 2022.
